Drina is a diminutive form of the names Adriana or Alexandrina. It is also the name of a significant river in the Balkans, which forms a large portion of the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. The river's name is derived from the Roman name 'Drinus', which in turn comes from the Greek 'Dreinos', originating from the native Illyrian name.
